Snow Research at the Blaueisgletscher

Since 2001 the Chillaui Institute for Snow Research is working internationally and interdisciplinary on snow measurements and the difference between hexagonal snowflakes in pure nature and laboratory.

We're located at the Blaueisgletscher in Ramsau, Germany, and have direct access to one of the most interesting natural glaciers in the world.

The Blaueisgletscher is the northernmost glacier in the alps and due to his relatively low height it's infrastructural well accessed. That's why our laboratories can be operated at very low costs.
